The Wind River Railroad operator crew gets together for operating sessions on the 3rd Friday night each month. We will usually keep running trains from 7pm until 9:30pm depending on operator availability. Operating sessions are conducted by using a computer program callled RailOp. See the link below for more details on how we operate using a dispatcher and RailOp's switchlists.

How does the Wind River Operate Realistically?
The first thing that helps a model railroad run like the real railroads is the use of Digital Command Control (DCC). DCC allows us to operate many trains in different directions at the same time on the same piece of track.
There is one basic method that the Wind River Utilizes for Operating Sessions:
-Via a Dispatcher, a CTC signal system, and Switchlists
